About the Artist
I was born in Palm Springs, California, in 1959, where a multitude of influences formed my artistic endeavors. My art intricately weaves elements of mid-century modern aesthetics, classic Spanish architecture, the vibrant arts of Native American, Old Western, and Hispanic cultures. These influences capture the essence of my work using bold and rich colors.
After over forty years in the graphic design business, I was inspired by my father who began creating beautiful oil paintings at the age of 70. Encouraged by his late-blooming artistic journey, I ventured into the fine arts field.
My work combines a whimsical and eclectic figurative style, featuring thought-provoking portrayals of women and desert wildlife. The vivid mystery and warmth of the Southwest ignites my curiosity and feeds my creative process, through the dynamic cultural blend of color, architecture, and history. I have a passion in exploring and incorporating diverse materials like Mulberry paper, hand painted paper, and vintage fabrics, which enhances my mixed media pieces with a unique texture and depth.
My technique blends my diverse background in cartooning, illustration, and graphic design crafting a distinctive aesthetic, with each piece serving as a testament to my creative journey and artistic evolution.
I am grateful to God for my gifts, and the incredible art journey He has lead me on.
“God made us to create. Every time we use our gifts, we reflect His heart to the world.”
